A little bit about me.

Dion Munk

I'm a programmer, designer, and tech junkie. I enjoy creating things, whether it be in blocks of code or pixels. I love to tinker and experiment. I have a passion for solving problems and using technology to do it.

I grew up and live in Southern Utah, one of the most beautiful places on earth. I think one of the requirements of living here is that you enjoy the outdoors. My favorite outdoor activities are backpacking and hiking, but you will find me hunting, fishing, and exploring pretty regularly.

I've been fascinated with technology since I was a kid. It all started with taking things apart to see how they worked and then attempting to put them back together, which didn't always work. This fascination with technology sparked my immediate interest in computers. I believe the first computer I laid hands on was my uncles Commodore 64 and it was love at first sight. I never stopped.

My obsession continued, and I eventually went to university to study computers. I have a B.S. in Computer Science, and a M.S. in Cyber Security and Information Assurance from Southern Utah University.

I love consuming media, but who doesn't these days? I love movies, all kinds of movies. I'm terrible with movie trivia though. I like to read, but find that listening to audiobooks is more convenient, and you can find me regularly devouring fantasy and sci-fi novels. I also enjoy podcasts, one of my favorites is This American Life.

In 2017 I bought a 2012 Harley Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight (early midlife crisis?), and I enjoy riding and tinkering with it when weather permits. It's a great outlet, and there's nothing quite like the feeling of cruising down the open road on a motorcycle.
